STATEMENT

The new unit will provide spaces for treatment delivery divided into multi bedded bays and single rooms with all required ancillary facilities also provided. As patients are immunocompromised, the environment must minimise the spread of infectious agents and antimicrobial resistance through careful design.

Project includes a Haematology/Medical Oncology Outpatients Department, a Haematology/Medical Oncology Treatment Day Ward incorporating Ambulatory Day Care, an Acute Oncology Service, an Aseptic Compounding Unit and a Tissue Establishment Unit.

The proposed unit will be a dedicated day speciality treatment facility within the CUH campus and will complement and augment the existing Oncology services provision and will include Staff Facilities and Oncology/Haematology Unit facilities to include Entrance Area, Reception, Ambulatory Care Spaces and OPD Single Rooms, Treatment Bays, Clinical Assessment Rooms with 64 No Single Rooms with Ensuite Toilet including Bariatric provision for future proofing. and other associated/complimentary facilities.

The proposed works also include the creation of a STEM Cell Laboratory Unit on a stand-alone site in a separate location from the Glandore Building.
